Jack was born and raised in Central New York State, and spent 15 years living in New York City before moving to Asheville 8 years ago.
After dabbling in various careers in New York, working on film sets, installing solar panels, working in IT for a State Housing agency, and others, Jack decided to concentrate on a career in legal support.
Jack's first legal position was as a paralegal for Legal Services for the Elderly in Queens, a non-profit law office which provides legal support and representation to elderly Queens residents who are defendants in foreclosure or eviction cases, or are survivors of elder abuse. Working on these crucial matters alongside such dedicated and talented attorneys for two years helped instill Jack with a sense of purpose and vigorous work ethic which has characterized his job performance since.
Having visited Asheville several times and falling in love with the area, Jack moved to Asheville in early 2017. Continuing his involvement with the non-profit world, Jack spent the next two and a half years working for Helpmate, the Asheville-based agency advocating and providing services for survivors of domestic violence. Jack worked as a court advocate in at once in the Buncombe County Courthouse, assisting survivors in navigating the legal system as well as providing general case management.
After taking a year off during the Covid pandemic, Jack's next position was working for a do-it-all law firm in Marshall, NC, helping him gain a wider knowledge of criminal, civil, property and other areas of law.
In 2022, Jack, wishing to re-engage with public service, joined the office of the Buncombe County Clerk of Superior Court, working in Criminal Records in the Buncombe County Courthouse. For the next three and a half years, Jack did all he could to assist defendants and their families, Assistant District Attorneys, private attorneys, fellow clerks, law enforcement and employees and courthouse-based agencies in providing information and guidance in navigating the legal system.
Having become acquainted with David and Justin through his frequent interactions with the Buncombe County District Attorney's Office, Jack leapt at the opportunity to join the two in their new firm, recognizing what an opportunity it is to work with lawyers he has such confidence and trust in, both professionally and personally.
In his spare time, Jack enjoys word games, playing guitar, running and tending to the plants on his roof.
Jack's enthusiasm for helping people, communication skills and broad knowledge of North Carolina criminal law will all be employed on a daily basis to ensure that our firm's clients and their loved ones always have a pleasant, informed and engaging resource to reach out to regarding their case.
